You open your messages. There is one from your best friend, unread for eleven days.
You wanted to reply properly. Really reply. Tell her about your life, because there is a lot going on. But that is exactly why you never get to it.
She does not know you thought of her today. You do not know how she is doing.
You both feel guilty. For no reason.
One tap on a bear. Once a day. For the people you want to keep knowing are there, even when the long messages have to wait.
You do not have to write anything. You do not have to answer anything. The bear is the sign.
If you skip a day, nothing dramatic happens. The bear waits. No guilty conscience.
Messengers are made for conversations. Conversations need time, energy, and a good moment.
Some friendships need something else: a quiet thread that does not tear, even when nobody has time to talk.
Bearhugme is that thread. Small enough to never become a burden. Warm enough to count.
Then it does not work. Bearhugme takes two. That is the idea, and also the small hurdle. Whoever installs it together means it.
Only if you want them. You can turn off reminders. You can turn off the push when she taps. Everything is optional.
Then your friend gets a short heads-up. By default that is the morning after a missed day. You choose the timing in your settings: same day, next day, after a few days, or never. Set it to never and nothing happens. The bear is not offended.

Nothing. Tapping, seeing whether someone tapped, and getting a heads-up if they didn't: that is free and stays free. The same goes for everything the app has today.
