Woman looking at her phone, relieved

I know you are okay.

One tap a day. One bear. A small sign from Mom or Dad that today everything is fine.

You are at work. Three meetings behind you. You notice you have not heard from your mother since yesterday evening.

You wonder for a moment whether you should call. Not because anything is wrong. You just want to know.

Then the notification arrives: Mom just tapped. 9:14 am. All good.

And you can get back to your day.

What Bearhugme does

Bearhugme is an app for two: for the person who lives alone, and for the person who thinks of them.

For Mom or Dad

One tap on a bear, once a day. That is all. No forms, no numbers, no health quiz. The bear is happy. Done.

For you

The same app, where you see whether today's tap has happened. A time. A quiet status. One look, and you know.

Why it is different

There are emergency apps. There are care apps. There is WhatsApp.

This is the space in between.

Bearhugme is not there to intervene when something bad happens. It is there to send a small warm signal every day that everything is fine.

That changes the relationship. You no longer have to ask. You know.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an emergency app?

No. If you are worried that nobody would help your parent in an emergency, you need a home emergency call system. Bearhugme does something different: it makes sure every normal day has a small sign.

What if Mom forgets to tap one day?

Nothing dramatic. You see: not tapped yet today. If you want, you call. If not, you wait until tomorrow. The app does not decide for you.

Does Mom need to be good with smartphones?

She needs to be able to press one single button. That is the whole app. No password, no menus. For many older people, that is simple enough.

In which countries is Bearhugme available?

Almost worldwide. Bearhugme is on the App Store and Google Play in almost every country, so it works even if you and your parents live in different ones. If it is not available in your country, let me know: [email protected].

Which languages does the app support?

English and German. In German, the app is known as Drück mich. Same app, same bear. Handy if your parents prefer German.

What does the app cost?

It is free at launch. Later extras will cost a small fee. The core (tap, see it, know everything is fine) stays free.
